-Aspirin actually derives from the Greek physician, Hippocrates, who discovered that the bark of a willow tree could reduce a fever.

-1897: A German chemist, Felix Hoffmann, was trying to find a cure for his father's arthritis and was able to produce a stable form of aspirin (a powder) used by doctors to help their patients.
-1915: aspirin became available without a prescription and was distributed to doctors
